Georgia Central Credit Union
Georgia Central Credit Union
Founded in 1936, Georgia Central Credit Union started as a cooperative of credit union leaders across Georgia, providing financial assistance to credit union officers and volunteers who are not allowed to apply for the programs being offered by the credit unions that they manage. In 1974 however, after the induction of the U.S. Central credit union, Georgia Central Credit Union became Georgia state's credit union's credit union. In other words, it turned into a corporation of credit unions that would promote thrift and provide loan programs and financial products and services to its member-credit unions across the state. Going in a higher scale, the Georgia Central Credit Union would be a member and part-owner of the U.S. Central credit union, which then would also known as the Corporate Credit Union Network.
The board of directors of the Georgia Central Credit Union is composed of volunteer officers from various central unions of Georgia who will coordinate with one another in planning and creating financial programs and making crucial decisions. Some of the services that the GCCU offer are correspondent payment, electronic bill payment, investment services, membership business solutions for small enterprises and various Internet banking solutions. Its head office is located at Duluth, Georgia and its present President and CEO is Mr. Gregory S. Moore.
